Requiem for a Gym... part 2

So the battle continues to lose 15 pounds. So far I have lost nothing! but never the less I am not giving up! I am still (when I feel like it) counting points for weight watchers and working out at the gym (when I get the energy). I have a goal and I will reach it!!!!
As I press forward to being skinny, I learned a few more things at the gym the other night.

1. Locker Rooms: Whether they are at Gold's Gym, your local rec center, your high school or even your middle school; THEY ALL SMELL THE SAME!!! Why is that?? I walked into the locker room to use the potty and though it was clean, I wanted to run screaming from the horrible memories of gym class that came flooding back.

2. Smile and Laugh: If you don't laugh at yourself or smile when you are working out, you do not get anywhere. If you can't enjoy what you are doing you will never like what you are doing. Working out is serious business.

3. Men and Yoga: the verdict is still out on that one. They just aren't as graceful as women.

4. Never be afraid to ask for help. Example (of a really embarrassing moment): I went to do squats with the free weights. One problem! I couldn't lift the bar off of the hook. It was up too high and I was too short. I looked around and not wanting to hurt myself by lifting the bar off of the hook, I see a couple of high school boys lifting weights. With my head held high I walked over and asked them to lift the bar down a notch for me. Kindly and without laughing at the veritcal challenges that I face, they lowered the bar. I squatted 135 pounds. Thanks guys!

Working mom....

The thought that has been on my mind lately, (besides how this nation has already gone to heck in a handbasket, (socialism here we are!!!)) is being a working mom. Don't get me wrong; I love my kids, I love my family, I love what I do and where I work, but finding a balance is tough. I talked with Miss May last night, about me working. She told me that she doesn't like that I work but she is not mad at me. But the dis/comfort in all of this is at 5 years old, she understands why.
I am not going to work to pay off the RV or the ATV's or the SUV or any extra "Neccesities"; as they have become. I am not going to work to pay for a life that we can't afford that includes the mansion on the hill with "the mercedes, sauna and room for a pony" (anyone who watches British Comedies will totally get that).
I am going to work to pay for health/ dental insurance for my family, to pay the rent and utilities and to pay for groceries and clothing. I find that I am a better mother and wife when I work. The biggest reason I work is: to make up the difference that Hotstuff cannot.

"God loves us. He is watching us. He wants us to succeed. We will know some day that He has not left one thing undone for the eternal welfare of each of us. If we only knew it, heavenly hosts are pulling for us—friends in heaven that we cannot now remember who yearn for our victory. This is our day to show what we can do—what life and sacrifice we can daily, hourly, instantly make for God. If we give our all, we will get His all from the greatest of all."
(Ezra Taft Benson, “Jesus Christ—Gifts and Expectations,” Ensign, Dec 1988, 2)

"We have not failed until we quit trying." Marvin J. Ashton

"When Fear knocked at the door, Faith answered and said: "No one is here." Unknown

Okay, I know! I'm getting preachy! Sorry! But the point I am trying to make is that my working outside my home is not in vain. It is a sacrifice I have chosen to make. My balance will come in time as long as I keep going. So why do I feel like I owe the entire world an apology for not being a stay at home mom?
